If there is one thing that grinds my gears it’s table based design and the “web development” companies that continue to use it.
I put it all together and PFFFT! all the magic smoke flys out of my diode. At this point I have let the magic smoke out of so many ICs and Diodes my nickname should be John the wizard.
It’s been awhile since I made my last post. That is to say it’s been awhile since I’ve published my last post. I have been writing several articles however I have yet to publish any. So here’s a quick recap on whats going on with the projects and what you can look forward to seeing [...]
How do you avoid this cluttered mess of misplaced files, cluttered workspaces, and low productivity?
Yep I’m growing moss. I decided to grow some moss after a long while of debating weather or not I should. After I saw a nice green patch on my way home from school the other day I asked myself the question “Why am I NOT growing mosses?” so I picked some up and off [...]
I put a lot of rants on this blog but have yet to put any good content. Today that ends!
Well I had hooked up the laser for all of 5 minutes last Thursday and it shot out a spectacular blue-violet beam. A weak blue-violet beam. It wouldn’t even pop a balloon. Keep in mind that I did not just open the package and fire up the laser. No, instead I had to set up [...]
Well it looks like I was put up on hackaday only weeks after being featured on instructables. I know it’s not my own post but I still think it’s cool to have my hobby become something that gets passed around the internet and hopefully inspires somebody to take up the reigns and begin their journey [...]
Just got ma lazer diode, driver, and uranium doped marbles in from MODWERX. The build is in full swing now! I had bought the necessary 1N4001 Diodes and some resistors to make a test load already and my batteries came in about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I need to machine down the laser diode housing [...]
Today is a good day! An Instructable I had been working on over the past month or so got featured not 12 hours after I posted it up! I had previously bought a keypad, the kind that are found on phones, and realized that in order to hook it up I needed to use 13 [...]
Didn’t I say I was a Interactive Multimedia Developer? What’s with all the electronics stuff?
Those pictures I promised of the Zippo Lighter as well as some new directions for this blog
Haven’t Blogged in awhile… Oh well. News is I have ordered the parts for my Blu-ray laser lighter, and I have decided to go to University. You might be asking yourself why? Why did I make such a huge decision so hastily? Well my original “life plan” was to go to post-secondary school and possibly [...]
Starting a new Zippo Laser Lighter with a blu-ray laser!
Re-inventing the time honored tradition of the Secret Knock!
I plan on making a podcasts filled with neat little Arduino projects. A video podcast.
Today I’m going to rant about music piracy. The music industry is an ever changing market that buckles to the whims of technology. In the beginning groups would simply tour around and perform. Then the radio became common and bands would do live broadcasts. Later on radio stations could record the artists on a record [...]
The cell phone is a marvel of modern technology. On April 3rd 1973 Martin Cooper made the first cellular phone-call from the streets of New York on a 30 oz. brick. Back then businessmen could purchase one for the low price of $3500. Today we have cell phones in every shape and size, they have [...]
Hey there! My name Is John Warren and I am a student at Algonquin College in the Interactive Multimedia Development course. Recently I have had a lot of interest in the applications of Augmented Reality and the modeling of characters for PaperVision3D to use with it. I have been using computers since I was three [...]
